County Ranks 28th in Relocation Survey

Lancaster County is among the nation's best places to move a family, according to a survey released Thursday.

The county placed 28th in the category of small metro areas, with populations of 360,000 to 600,000, says the fourth annual "Best Places for Relocating Families" survey.

Produced by Primacy Relocation and Worldwide ERC, the survey took into account a metro area's economy, housing market, education, health care, population growth, availability of "green" energy and other factors.

The small-metro category rankings included three other Pennsylvania communities: Harrisburg/Carlisle, ninth; Scranton/Wilkes-Barre, 34th; and Reading, 42nd.
