“Big Labor Pools, Big Labor”

According to the Brookings Institution’s Metropolitan Policy Program, the Lancaster, PA Metro Area ranks in the top 10 among the nation’s 100 largest cities for manufacturing employment.

As noted in the article, of the total employment figure of 247,857 workers, 45,728 or 18% of them are employed in manufacturing. Data is provided by the 2007 American Community Survey.
